Drew has enjoyed competitive sports all his life. He broke freestyle records as a young swimmer until age 14 and began football in fourth grade for the North Farmington-West Bloomfield Vikings.  As a freshman at Lahser High School, Drew started as both a fullback on offense and a linebacker on defense and helped lead the freshman team to a perfect 9-0 record.  Drew was moved up to varsity as a sophomore to start as inside linebacker and punter.  For three consecutive years Drew led the team in tackles, contributing to an 11-2 record and a trip to the state semi-finals in his junior year. His coach Dan Loria said, “Drew’s greatest asset was his leadership and football smarts, his ability to help others preparing for upcoming games; he was a tremendous captain for two years.” Drew played both ways his last two years at inside linebacker and tight end.  He totaled 332 career tackles and four interceptions, all injury-free.

Drew also found much success playing four years of varsity lacrosse.  As face-off middie, with winning percentages 62% in 2008 and 64% in 2009, Drew was awarded All State, 2nd team, his junior year.

Drew had a solid following of family and friends who attended all his games and were his biggest fans. He said, “I want to thank Coach Loria and Coach Hertle who mentored and coached me for all three years and lacrosse coach Don Lough who emphasized that playing with character always matters. Thanks to Mom and Dad for always being there for me!”
