Andre came to Cooley from Detroit Millennium High School where he starred in basketball as a freshman. Stating that he wanted to play football for Coach Thomas Moss, former head football coach at Cooley HS, he transferred to Cooley. As a sophomore, he started at defensive end, where he recorded 28 solo tackles, 5 quarterback sacks and 3 fumble recoveries until he suffered a season ending fracture in his left arm.  As a junior, he started at wide receiver and free safety, scored 12 TD’s and recorded 41 solos and 7 sacks.  As a senior, and on the radar for Big-Ten and MAC schools, he did not disappoint. He scored 14 TD’s playing Wide receiver, quarterback and flanker and scored twice on kickoff returns, 92 yards against Detroit Renaissance in a literal last minute loss and free safety where he made 51 solos and 5 interceptions. He was named First Team All City (Detroit News) at wide receiver.

Andre is recognized as a fine cager as well, averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds at the forward position.

Andre thanked his mother and family for their, “unending love and unconditional support regardless of the circumstances, always having faith in me in spite of all the doubters.”  He also recognized the Cooley coaching staff including current head football coach Kenneth Williams and former head coach Thomas Moss, Jr. for giving him direction and guidance. He also thanked, “all the Cardinal supporters who were there in spite of us not being able to reach all our team goals.” “Thanks for giving me something I will always cherish and pass to my children.”  Andre is still undecided on his college choice at this time.
