Justin first found a love for football when he played on Ida’s seventh grade team. He started by playing offensive and defensive tackle. As a freshman he played tight end and linebacker. In his sophomore year he was moved up to varsity to play tackle both offensively and defensively. In his first year on varsity Justin was named special mention All Region. He was named to the first team All Region for the next two years.  As a senior, Justin was awarded the “Coaches Award” and was named a “Master of Sports” at Ida High School.

Justin also participated in basketball and track for the Bluestreaks. He excelled in discus and shot put in track and field.
Justin said, “I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play this wonderful game called football.” He also thanked his parents, grandparents, and family, “for always being there to help push me to be the best that I can be, especially my dad for believing and supporting me through everything.” He thanked the whole coaching staff at Ida high school, “especially coach Scott Shepard for helping me to be a better athlete.”
