Josh started playing football at the age of eight for the Rochester Redskins. One of his youth football teammates, QB Ricky Powell, is also on the East Team. From Josh’s sophomore year, he played on the varsity squad for Coach Tony Patritto. In his second varsity game he returned a kick-off 97 yards for a touchdown and a school record. As a senior co-captain, Josh helped lead the Highlanders to the State semi-finals scoring 31 touchdowns and amassing 1,955 all-purpose yards. Josh played running back, defensive back and was a kick and punt returner. Josh was awarded the team MVP in both 2006 and 2007.

Josh also lettered in track all four years and qualified for the state meet in the 4×200 and the 4×400 relay in 2006. Josh qualified as a Scholar Athlete starting his freshman year at Rochester Adams. The Oakland Press awarded him the “Dr. Pepper Athlete of the Month” scholarship in November, 2007. He also was honored by the State of Michigan as “Athlete of the week”.

Josh thanked his family, “For always believing in me and supporting our team every step of the way. Your love is truly appreciated.” Josh also thanked his coaches and teammates, “For being like a second family to me and giving me memories I’ll never forget. I couldn’t have asked for more from my experience with Adams’ football and I know all of us will always remember our time together and smile.” Josh said, “I am looking forward to the challenge and opportunity to attend Wayne State University and represent Warrior football.
