Jeff began playing football in fourth grade in the Dearborn Heights, District 7 Dads Club flag football league. In sixth grade he started playing tackle football with the Dearborn Heights Raiders where he played two years. In eighth grade he was a quarterback for his middle school, OL Smith. As a freshman, he started on the freshman team before being moved up to JV as a tight end. His sophomore year, he started on varsity at defensive end. As a junior he started on both the offensive and defensive lines. As a senior he focused mainly on the offensive line and anchored a unit that was the best rushing attack in the league. His efforts as a senior also helped guide the team to a League Championship and a 5-4 record. During his senior campaign he took home All-City and All-League honors, as well as the Gary Schlief outstanding lineman award.

Jeff also played two years of basketball, and three seasons of baseball, which he lettered in twice. He was very involved in his school’s weight lifting program, where he currently holds two school records in deadlift and squat.

First and foremost I thank my mother, Jennifer, for being at every single one of my games growing up and all the long car rides and weekends and time from her life she has given up to help me pursue my dreams.” He thanked his Grandma, Patricia, and Grandfather, Richard, for “being the most supportive people in this whole process, you never stopped believing in me.”  He thanked Mr. Michael Machperson for “Never giving up on me and investing so greatly in Edsel Ford and the success of its student athletes.” He thanked Coach Mark Tyler, for “Being the best coach that you could possibly be, Mr. Michael Kostoff, for lighting that fire in me so long ago that led to all of my success and Coach Gary Schleif, for guiding me and turning me into a man in four years. I will always remember you.” He thanked Mr. Craig Gailliard for “being the closest thing to a father I had growing up” In addition, Jeff said, “I collectively thank Coach Tyler, Coach Macpherson, Coach Schleif, Coach Golles, Coach P, Coach Fay, Coach Holly, Mr. Rob Picano, Mr. Casebolt, Mr. Rydzik, Mr. Sitarski, and my teachers at Edsel Ford for teaching me lessons that will last a lifetime, and playing a part in helping me achieve all my goals.
