arter his junior and senior years. He played everywhere on the defensive line, starting at end and tackle throughout his high school career. He also played every position on the offensive line, including being a two-way starter, at center and defensive tackle, for three games. He was 23-5 as a player on varsity and was a part of three league championships and back-to-back district championships. Dean was on the honor roll and maintained a 3.0 GPA. He has accepted a scholarship to play football at Ferris State University.
Dean also played varsity basketball his sophomore and junior years. Both years his team won district titles and his junior year they went 19-1 in the regular season. Dean also played baseball as a junior but planned to try out for the golf team last spring. He was named to the first team All South Eastern Conference and the All Area First Team.
Dean thanked his family “because without them, I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere.” He also thanked all of his coaches, especially his head coach Brad Bush, his position coach Brian Montoye and his strength and conditioning coach (and offensive position coach) Adam Taylor. Finally, Dean thanked the Chelsea community for their support of Chelsea football.
