Dalvin is the son of LaDon and Tonja Rubens and younger brother to sister, Jazimen, and older brother to, Donavin, and sister, Jewel. 

At Truman, Dalvin was a three-year starter who played both defensive end and tight end. Chosen as team’s most outstanding defensive lineman twice in his prep career, he led the team to the district title game coached by Eric Stiegal. His team also shared the Downriver League Championship. Dalvin helped the Cougars to a 9-2 overall record. He had 76 tackles, a total of 8 sacks, 18 tackles for loss and scored two 2-point conversions. In his final season he was named to the Detroit News All Metro West team and the Associated Press division 3-4 All State Team. Dalvin was the captain of a defensive unit that allowed only 11 points per game, he was also captain of the D-Zone’s 2012 All Southeastern Michigan Defensive Team. Dalvin was listed as Michigans #25 prospect by the D-Zone. 

He thanked, “My parents for always supporting me and always being by my side, my brother and sisters, my high school coaches, my Uncle Chris and Grandma, neither of whom ever missed a game in my senior year.” He also thanked, “the rest of my family, teamates and fans.”
