Alex earned two varsity letters in football. He was one of his team’s captains in 2005. Alex earned a spot on the Tri-Valley All Conference Second Team for defense in 2003. In 2005, he was named to the Tri-Valley All Conference First Team Offense, Tri-Valley All Conference Second Team Defense, Saginaw News All Area First Team, and the Tuscola County Advertiser First Team.

While in high school, Alex participated in track and wrestling. In track, he was a member of the 2005 MIHSAA State Championship track team. In wrestling, he was a four-year captain of his team. He set the single season win record and was the first person in his school’s history to earn 100 victories in his career. Alex also qualified for the MHSAA Individual State Wrestling Finals the last three years. At the finals this year, Alex placed seventh in the state, earning him All State honors. He was also a member of the National Honor Society with a 3.9 GPA.

Alex thanked, “God for all the gifts that I possess, my parents for putting up with me and being my biggest fans, my siblings for being supportive, my grandparents for always cheering me on, my football coaches for teaching me all the skills that I have, and all of those who have supported me throughout my high school career.” He said, “Without those people, I would not be where I am today. Thank you.”

Next year, Alex will attend Hope College. He will study business management/economics, and going pre-law. He will also play football.
