Zachary has been playing organized football since he was ten years old. He was a two-year starter for Detroit Cass Technical HS. During Zachary’s junior season, he played defensive end and linebacker where he racked up 15 sacks and 76 tackles. In his senior season, Zachary was one of the Captains of the team and played strictly linebacker accumulating 11 sacks and 147 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 2 blocked punts, and one blocked field goal. Zachary helped lead Cass Tech to a State playoff appearance in 2006.

Zachary ran track for four consecutive years and was voted team captain his junior and senior seasons at Cass. He ran the 400-meter, the 400- meter relay, the 300-meter hurdles and the 200-meters. Zachary was a youth mentor and spent his Saturdays helping the needy with the Feeding Ministry at his church.

Zachary stated that, “I would first like to thank God because without Him none of this would be possible. I thank my family for all of their support throughout the years.” He gave a big “shout-out to everyone at Cass Tech, especially Principal Ashford for her loyal support” of him and the team. He also expressed his thanks to all his friends on the Cass Tech Football Team “because they all became like my brothers.”
