Vince has played football since he was ten years old beginning at the Pop Warner level as an offensive lineman and linebacker. In high school he was a three-year player on varsity, starting at defensive end for all three years. He played offensive tackle his sophomore year before becoming a starting tight end his junior and senior years. Vince was one of four captains in his senior year while playing tight end, defensive end, and some outside linebacker. His junior and senior years he was on two of the best teams in his school’s history with many great athletes that contributed. His senior year was his best campaign earning All Conference, All Area, All Area Defensive Player of the Year, and All State honors. He finished with 75 tackles, 5 sacks, and an interception for a touchdown on defense. On offense, as a tight end in the run-oriented double wing offense, he ended with 7 catches for 194 yards with two TD’s.
Vince also participated in track where he was a three-year letter winner. He ran the 200 M, 800 M relay, and threw shot put. He was also a devoted weight-lifter in the off-season.
Vince will play tight end at SVSU next year. He said, “My parents and entire family have been very supportive and have helped me in every way. My dad has taken countless hours to do everything possible to make sure that every opportunity possible has been given to me.” He added, “I am extremely grateful to my parents for their support and love.” He also thanked his coaches and teammates “for everything they have done for me with football and life. They have taught me many lessons and given me great memories I will never forget.” His trainer, Scott Conti, “has also played a huge role in my successes and I am grateful for everything that Scott has done for me.” Vince ended by thanking “God who has given me the ability and the chance to have a great life and the blessing of playing football.”
