Tyree was a three year varsity starter. He was team captain and played safety and wide receiver. Tyree was ranked No. 47 on the Detroit Free Press Fab 50 and No. 56 on Detroit News Blue Chip List. He was also a three-time All Southeastern Conference selection, received All State Honorable Mention from the Detroit News, and was a member of the All Washtenaw County Dream Team. Tyree was voted team MVP. He helped the Railsplitters go from a winless team to a playoff team and to back-to-back winning seasons. In 2012 he registered 53 tackles and two interceptions, taking one back for a touchdown. He had 874 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns and also saw spot duty at running back, rushing for 212 yards and three touchdowns. Tyree totaled 141 tackles and four sacks for his career.

Tyree was a three year letterwinner in track and field, a two year captain, and a two year MVP. He was a three time All Southeastern Conference award winner and earned all-state honors as a junior, finishing second in the state in the long jump at 23’4″.
