Tory’s parents are Kathy Mee and Jarle Martinsen. He has one sister, Jannicka (20).
Tory started playing football in the seventh grade as a quarterback. In his sophomore year he was moved up to the varsity team, but lost the quarterback battle, so his coaches, Coach Robb and Coach Hoskins, switched him to wide reciever where he remained for the rest of his high school career. Tory was named first team Huron League wide receiver in both his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Tory had 57 receptions for 703 yards and 3 TD’s. He was awarded 1st Team All Region, All State Honorable Mention, 1st Team All District, All Monroe County, All Washtenaw County, Monroe Evening News 1st Team, Heritage News 1st Team, MHSFCA Academic All State 1st Team, and National Football Foundation Wistert Chapter Scholar Athlete.
Tory was also the Vice President of Milan’s DECA club, and was an International Finalist (Top 20) in Sports and the Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making Event with partner Sydney Lammers. He was a National Honor Society member, AP Scholar Award Recipient, 1st Team Huron League Scholar-Athlete, Camp Counselor at Reach for the Stars Camp, three year starter on the varsity basketball team, and student liaison to the Milan Area Chamber of Commerce.
Tory thanked, “my parents for always supporting me, being there for me, and giving me the chance to play football. I also thank all my coaches, most notably Coach Jesse Hoskins, for teaching me everything I know about football and making me into the player I am today. I thank all of my teammates, friends, and family who have believed in me and helped me become successful in both football and in life. Tory will attend the University of Michigan to study Finance.
