Tom was a three-year starter on the Kimball Knights varsity team. His junior, and senior years he was team captain. Tom played defensive end and fullback his sophomore year, then moved to linebacker and fullback his junior and senior years, where he was among the top in the state in tackles with 171, and rushing with over 500 yards. Tom led Kimball’s last football team ever to the playoffs.
Playing both ways, Tom earned MVP of the Knights his senior year, and defensive player of the year two years running, along with the Junkyard Dog award for being the meanest, grittiest, hard nosed player on the field. Tom was also nominated as The Daily Tribune’s Player of the Year.
Tom said, “In my four years at Kimball playing football I was surrounded by a great group of coaches and teammates. Without my brothers and coaches next to me on the field I wouldn’t be where I am today. I would like to thank them for the heart and drive every person in our program put forth to be the best. I would like to thank my mom who has always been there through the years giving me her strength, my dad, my brother and sister, my family, friends, the fans which have supported me through my high school career and helped me to pursue my dream of playing college football.”
