Assistant Coach Tim McGowan
Cheboygan High School

Tim grew up in Bay City where he graduated from All Saints Central in 1977.  After high school Tim earned a bachelors degree from Saginaw Valley State and a masters degree from Central Michigan.

    Tim’s football coaching career includes two years JV coach at Bay City All Saints, 1980-1981, two years head coach at Pinconning 1982-1983, and three years varsity assistant at Bay City John Glenn 1984-1986 (working under Hall of Fame coach John Loop).  The last 21 years Tim has been offensive coordinator and linebacker coach at Cheboygan High School, working with Hall of Fame coach Jack Coon.  While Tim has been at Cheboygan, the team has posted a 150 – 70 record including 14 playoff appearances which included runners-up in class BB in 1991.  In 2001, he was selected as an Assistant Coach of the Year by the MHSFCA.

    Tim has been married to his wife Lisa for 25 years and has one son, Alex, who just completed his senior year at Cheboygan where he played center for the Chiefs.

    Coach McGowan said, “This is certainly a highlight in my coaching career, being asked to coach at the highest level of high school football by the MHSFCA.  I hope to make this a fun and awesome memory for the best players in Michigan.”
