Steve Menoian

Steve played football at Western all four years. He started his career as a freshman on junior varsity. Steve was a three-year starter on varsity. His sophomore year he played receiver and posted 20 catches for over 200 yards. His junior year he played running back as well as receiver, and caught 33 balls for over 300 yards. As a senior, Steve played safety, running back, slot back and wide-out for the Warriors. He caught 50 balls for 700 yards and 5 touchdowns. As a running back he had 71 carries for 600 yards with an 8.3 average and 6 touchdowns. Offensively, he piled up almost 1300 yards of total offense and 11 touchdowns for the Warriors. Defensively, he had 30 tackles and one interception. He also blocked a punt. Steve was a two year captain for Western and he broke four school records in his career: catches in a game (12), catches in a season (50), catches in a career (101), and receiving yardage in a career (1,113). Steve was also selected MVP for his team his senior year.

 

Steve was also a two-year varsity basketball player at Western. He had an injury plagued junior season but as a senior he was voted a captain and he started his entire senior year.

 

Steve said, “I would like to thank my entire family for being supportive and encouraging me to do the best I can, my teammates for working hard with me and for all the great memories. I would like to thank Coach Z and the entire coaching staff at Western for always pushing me to be better and giving me a great program to be a part of.”
