1st Assistant Shawn Griffith
Constantine High School
Coach Griffith is a graduate of Mendon High School. He attended Western Michigan University on a full academic scholarship where he earned his bachelors degree in physical education and math.
Shawn begins his 27th season of coaching high school football in Michigan which included stops at Mendon High School, Hillsdale High School and his current school, Constantine High School. He was hired to coach in Constantine in 1992 and served as their offensive coordinator until 2005 when he was promoted to head coach. As an assistant coach, he made five appearances in the state finals with Mendon and Constantine, including the 2004 state championship squad that still holds the record for the most rushing yards in a state title game appearance (549 yards).
In eight seasons as the head coach at Constantine, he has compiled an 82-18 overall record, qualified for the playoffs all eight seasons; won six district championships, four regional championships, and was the 2011 and 2012 Division 6 state runners-up. He was selected as a MHSFCA Regional Coach of the year following the 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Shawn and his wife of 22 years, Tricia, have four children, Samantha, Sabrina, Sydney, and OJ. They reside in Mendon where Shawn’s parents, Lee and Sue, raised Shawn and two brothers, Buzz and Shane and sister, Leasa, each of whom has excelled in the coaching profession in their own right.
