Ryan was a member of the varsity football team for three years. He was a starter at defensive end as a sophomore and as a senior. In his junior year, he suffered a season ending ACL tear that sidelined him for the entire season. He came back strong as a senior playing on both sides of the ball being named to the All County team and earning the team’s Most Valuable Defenseman award. He helped lead his team to two league championships and into the playoffs.
Ryan was also a member of the Division Champion JV baseball team as a sophomore. In addition, he was on the varsity bowling team for four years and was a co-captain of the team for two years. The team finished in the top ten in the state finals the past three years. He was a member of the Spanish Club and VICA in automotive technology. Ryan enjoys the outdoors and recently earned his Eagle award in scouting. Ryan plans to attend Ferris State University on a football scholarship. He will study mechanical engineering.
Ryan said, “I am thankful to my brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends for all their support.” He especially thanked his mom and dad for all their support and help throughout the years and especially in his very successful recovery from a difficult injury his junior year.
