Ryan has played football since he was nine years old and has “always loved the game.” Ryan has accomplished many things as a Dowagiac Chieftain and is “proud to represent my community in the All Star Game.” During his high school career he was voted MVP in 2004, All Conference in 2005 and 2006, and named All Area by South Bend Tribune Publications in 2006. Ryan was part of a team that earned a berth in the playoffs two years in a row. He started 21 games between his junior and senior years at offensive tackle and occasionally played defensive tackle. He anchored the offensive line that rushed for 3,500 yards in 2006.

While in high school, Ryan was a member of the Varsity Club and Leadership Club and lettered four years in track and two in football. Ryan also received several medals in weightlifting competitions. Ryan is always up for a challenge. In his free time, he likes to watch football, bowl, spend time weightlifting, and socialize with friends. Ryan said, “I look forward to continuing my education and football career in college.”

Ryan said, “I especially want to thank my Mom and Dad for all their love, support and guidance through the years. I love you both.” He also gave, “a special thank you to my grandparents and aunts and uncles for always cheering me on every week.” He thanked, “everyone who supported me during my high school career and all my teammates and coaches for some of the best years of my life.” He addressed Coach Stanger, saying, “thank you for all the skills that you taught me and for being such a great coach and mentor. I could not have done it without all of you.”
