Ryan was a three-year starter for Coach Chris Bell at Lake Orion High School. The All State receiver caught 54 passes for 926 yards (17.1 avg.) and eight touchdowns in 2004. Ryan rushed for 100 yards on six carries and scored one rushing TD as a senior. He also averaged 39 yards on kickoff returns in 2004 and accounted for 208 all-purpose yards. As a junior Ryan had 30 receptions for 540 yards (18.0 avg.) and five TD’s. His prep career totals include 94 catches for 1,842 yards (19.6 avg.) and 13 TD’s.
Ryan also lifts weights. He benches 320 pounds and squats 485 pounds and competed in track as a sprinter, hurdler, and jumper. He advanced to the 2004 state finals (Division 1) in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Ryan maintained a 3.6 gpa at Lake Orion.
Ryan will attend Michigan State University on a football scholarship.
