Rodney played little league football in Dublin, Ohio his 3rd- 5th grade year. Rodney played for Coach Cheiro on the Gahanna traveling football team, which won the National Football Championship in Louisville, Kentucky. Rodney played football at Hilliard Memorial Middle School. His 9th grade year he played for Hillard Darby High School and they were undefeated. His family then moved to Macomb, Michigan where Rodney attended Macomb Dakota High School. He started his sophomore year as a cornerback. His junior year he started as corner cornerback and punt and kickoff returner. Rodney’s senior year he hardly left the field, playing cover cornerback, covering the opposing team’s best receiver, punt and kickoff returner and offensive receiver. Rodney was All Conference Mac Red 1st team and MVP. He was lst Team All East Captain and 1st Team Specialist in the Macomb Daily. He was Cornerback and Defensive Player of the Year on the Detroit News Dream Team. He was Detroit Free Press Dream Team, Captain Offensive End and Offensive Player of the Year. Rodney was also a captain on the 2007 Division 1 State Champion Dakota team.
Rodney was named PrepNation.com top 101 football players in the Nation and 1st Team All-American. Rodney was captain and point guard for the Cougar basketball team. He was All State shortstop as a junior and was Captain of the 2007 b aseball team.
Rodney thanked “God for all his blessing and my mom and dad for all their support and for always being there.” He also thanked Bobby and Sabrina for always being his biggest fans. His “Grandpa and Grandma” for always making the long trip to support him and his aunts, uncles and cousins and friends for their continued love and support.
