He was a member of the National Honor Society, a Student Mentor, on the All League Academic team and was involved in many community service programs during his four years at Cousino including the Patriot football reading program to the elementary students and helping the needy at Christmas.

Rick also played basketball for four years with the last three years as the starting point guard on the varsity team.  He played baseball his freshmen year on the JV team and then was on the varsity track team the last three years.
Rick gave a special thanks to his mother, “because of the special notes you gave me every Thursday night and for always being positive and encouraging me to do my best in whatever it was that I did.” Rick also has a unique bond with his father and said, “Thank you Dad for the time and dedication you provided in helping me develop the tools needed to become a better athlete and most importantly a better person for the future.” He thanked his entire family for “the encouraging phone calls throughout the week and for taking the time out of their busy schedules to make sure they at least made it to one game throughout the year.” Rick also thanked his sister, “for coming home from Michigan State University every Friday to watch me play and for being there for me when I needed you most.”
Rick plans to attend college to study business or education and to play football.
