Omar started playing football his freshmen year in high school. He was a two way starter for Taylor Truman by his sophomore year. He continued to excel in football and basketball over the next three years. He was voted team captain of the football team his senior year.

Omar thanked his mother, who has always been his biggest supporter. He also had, “a very special thank you for Kim Horvath for, not only tutoring him on his ACT, feeding him and his friends when they would hang-out at her house, but also for guiding him to be a better man.” He thanked all the members of his family for “their encouragement and support throughout all my athletic and school career.” He thanked his coaches: Coach Rowe, Coach Bradley, Coach Morrow, Coach Marshall, and Coach Phillips for, “helping develop my athletic skills, along with being positive role models in my life.”

Omar had a tremendous senior year in football earning team awards and state awards for his play. He helped the Truman Cougars earn a play-off berth in 2007, only their second appearance in school history. Omar will continue his education and football career at the Central Michigan University.
