Nick is the son of Janette and Larry McQuiston of Riverview and Doug Beamish of Trenton. He has an older brother Eric (19), and a younger sister, Melanie (15).

Nick started playing football at the age of eight for the Riverview Pirates’ junior football team, and continued with them for the next six years. Nick started his career at Riverview Community High School; he played for the freshman team in ninth grade, and moved up to varsity for his next three years. Nick was a two-way starter all three years on varsity, playing center, and moving around on defense at linebacker, tackle, and defensive end. He finished his senior year with 78 tackles, 8 for loss. On offense Nick played center and was also the long snapper on special teams. He was the focal point on the line and was voted by his teammates as the offensive MVP. Nick was a team captain in his senior year, along with four other leaders.

Nick also played four years of varsity golf and two years varsity basketball, graduating with a total of 9 varsity letters. Nick was a part of the National Honor Society and maintained a 3.7 grade point average ranked 27th in his class of 187. Nick looks forward to the responsibilities that are a part of being a Division 1 student athlete.

He thanked his teammates for helping him with all of his accomplishments. He also thanked all of his coaches, “especially Coach Stergalas for his insight and guidance. Nick also thanked his family for “all of the support they have shown me.”
