Nathan is the son of Mike and Trina Ricketts. He has one sister, Morgan (15) and one brother, Nolan (12).
He started standing on the sidelines of his dad’s practices at Hope College at the young age of 18 months. Nathan began playing youth football at the age of seven and has never stopped. Nathan played JV football his freshman year in high school and was a three-year varsity starter for the Dutch. Nathan was the captain of the Dutch for two years and helped his team to a District Championship his senior year; the first time in school history. Nathan received Most Valuable Defensive Player three years on varsity. He broke the tackle record his senior year with 168 tackles in his senior season, and finished with 415 tackles in his career. He was all conference three years, all state honorable mention senior year, all area two years and was named to the Parade Magazine All American Team his senior year. Nathan looks forward to a great college career at Central Michigan University. He will be the first football player from Holland High to go Division 1 in 25 years.
Nathan also participated in basketball four years (The team was conference champs in his senior year) and track for two years. He was also on the Superintendent Summit for three years.
