Mitch is the son of Doug Bredberg and Pat Andres. His brother, Phil (23), is pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting at Michigan State University.

Mitch helped lead his team to a undefeated Conference Championship and its first State Championship in school history in 2010. During his senior year, he converted on 15 of 18 field goals and 66 of 67 extra points including 59 in a row. His 15 field goals ranks him second in a single season in MHSAA history. Mitch also had 47 touchbacks on 99 total kickoffs averaged 35 yards per punt with a long of 53 yards and a 4.8 hang time. Mitch was awarded Special Teams Player of the Year on his West Catholic high school team.

Earlier in 2010, Mitch was the National Champion field goal kicker at the National Combine Series Camp in Tampa, Florida and the Champion field goal kicker at the University of Wisconsin kicking camp in Madison, Wisconsin.

Prior to football, Mitch was an elite level soccer player with his Grand Valley Premier club soccer team-playing in tournaments across the Midwest – earning Defensive Player of the Year recognition in 2007.

Mitch also competed in track, running in the 400M, 800M, 1600M, and 4X400M relay events.

In addition to sports, Mitch is a classical pianist and played the trombone in his high school band. He spent spring break this year touring Italy with the band, highlighted with a musical performance at the Vatican in Rome for Pope Benedict XVI.

Mitch thanked his coaches, teammates, and community at West Catholic High School, especially Head Coach Dan Rohn and kicking Coach Jim Blok, who he has worked with since eighth grade. “It is a great honor to be included in the West Catholic legacy of previous players that have participated in this All Star game!”

Mitch plans to major in business and to contribute to the success of the Grand Valley State University football team this fall.
