Mike began playing organized football in third grade and it instantly became his favorite sport. As a freshman Mike was the starting J.V. quarterback and a defensive back. His sophomore year, Mike started as a defensive back on Lowell’s 2004 undefeated State Championship team. In his junior and senior years Mike started on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and defensive back and punt returner. Mike is tied for 2nd place in Michigan’s for touchdowns scored in a season with 21. He is tied for 6th in career touchdowns with 30 and 6th for career interceptions with 22. During his varsity career Lowell was 33-3.

Mike started on the varsity basketball team for three years and his freshman year he also played J.V. baseball. Mike was also on the Honor Roll every semester during high school. He is very active in the community and at his church.

Mike thanked Coach Dean, Coach Katt and the rest of the football staff for the numerous hours they invested. He gave a “special thanks to my teammates for all of their hard work and effort over my four years at Lowell.” Mike gave a special thanks to Greg Foster, Nat Rich, Grandma and Grandpa Heinsman and the Lowell Community for all their financial donations. “I am proud to represent this great community. Thanks for all your continued support the past four years.”
