Mike worked diligently at his position helping the team to win Districts and Regionals his Freshman year, Districts sophomore year, and Districts and League Championship his senior year. He started as a junior and by senior year he was named a Captain of the team. Senior year, Mike had 57 tackles, 3 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.
Mike thanked “all my family, friends, and teammates for their support and spirit.” He especially thanked Hall of Fame Head Coach Mike Boyd, his Hall of Fame line coach, Joe Seeterlin, and coaches: Mike Artley, Mel Nuss, Jim Garris, Steve Troy, Greg Alvis and Mike Fras. “It was a fantastic four years, and I’ll never forget the Laker Spirit.”
