Matt’s parents are Cynthia Eleweke and Okey Eleweke.  He has one sister, Chi-Chi Eleweke (25).

 

Matt began playing football in the seventh grade where he played Pop Warner for the Southfield Falcons.  He has played tight end, wide receiver, safety, linebacker and defensive end.  As a senior, he had 49 tackles and 6 sacks for a loss of 43 yards,  17 tackles for a loss of 73 yards,  2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 3 pass breakups.  His teammates and coaches voted him Defensive MVP.  He was also named All League and Honorable Mention All City.

 

Throughout high school, Matt participated in track and field in the high jump.  He also played power forward and center on the basketball team in his sophomore and junior years.

 

Matt thanked, “God first and foremost for giving me the talents and the opportunity to be able to play in this game.” He also thanked his, “mother, father and sister; my brother-in-law Stephen for being a mentor to me; my football coach, Coach Putnam; and my freshman football coach, Coach Randy for jump starting my high school career.
