Luke DeLong is the son of Tricia and Jim DeLong, he has an older brother, Andrew (21), who attends Michigan Tech and is studying chemical engineering. He has a step-father, Jeff Dudley, who is also a big influence in his life.

Luke started playing football at the age of eight. He played varsity for the Chemics for three years. Luke played a variety of positions all three years, but his main two were wide receiver and corner back. Luke was voted as the team captain both his junior and senior years and was the team MVP his junior year. Luke ended his career with four playoff wins and two District titles, and appeared in two Regional finals.

Luke was a two-sport varsity athlete, aside from football he played three years of varsity baseball for the Chemics where he played center field.  He was an active member in the ping pong club and also a member of NHS where he volunteered within the school and the community. Luke was also an active member in Midland Young Life.

Luke thanked his parents for their, “unconditional love and always changing their schedules to meet my busy one”.  Luke also thanked Coach Eric Methner for, “putting a great amount of trust in my ability to perform on Friday nights”.  He thanked Coach Lawson for, “always giving his time to make me a better athlete whenever he had the time to work with me. Above all I thank God for blessing me with my talents.”
