Lucas’ parents are Ken and Lynn Klein. He has two brothers, Konrad (20) and Lincoln (16) and a sister, Kami (12). Lucas also mentioned his Grandma Pini, Grandma and Grandpa Klein.

Lucas said, “I have loved the game of football since I was a little kid.” He started playing in seventh grade, and has played with the same teammates throughout high school. Lucas played one year of JV and was pulled up to varsity as a sophomore. He started both ways as a sophomore playing tight end and defensive end. Lucas also served as the team’s punter and split time as the team’s kicker. The Lakers made the playoffs all three years of Lucas’ varsity career and he helped his team to an undefeated regular season in 2015.

Lucas was a three-sport athlete, having participated in football, basketball, and track. He accumulated ten varsity letters in his high school career. In basketball he was selected to the First Team All Copper Mountain Conference and was the Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He also received AII-U.P. First Team honors for basketball. For track he was an All-U.P. shot putter. He was the Vice President of National Honor Society, President of the Student Council, and President of the Physics Club.

Lucas thanked his parents and family for, “All the love and support they have given me.” He also thanked his coaches, “Especially Andy Crouch who helped me succeed by pushing me to achieve my maximum potential.” Lucas also thanked his teammates and his community for, “All the memories and support they have given me.”
