He played football at St. Johns High School for four years, starting on varsity as a junior and senior. He finished his junior year with 51 tackles, including 6 for a loss, 4 sacks and was awarded Most Improved Defensive Player on his team. As a senior captain he finished the season with 69 tackles, 7.5 sacks (tying a school record), 22 tackles for a loss (tying a school record) and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year for his team.

Landon was also a three year starter and two year captain on the wrestling team. On the track team, Landon was a four year starter and two year captain. He was a conference champion in wrestling, shot put, and discus. In 2006 he qualified for the MHSAA Individual State Wrestling Meet.

Aside from a “huge thank you” to his parents, Barb and Gary, Landon thanked all of his teammates, coaches, teachers and friends. And he addressed Mike Maloney, “This goes without saying: ‘Without the consistent support and push you all have given me, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank You.’”

Landon has chosen to wrestle at Central Michigan University.
