Kory’s love for football began when he played in the local youth league, coached by his dad, Mike. In high school Kory played on the JV team as a freshman, starting on both the offensive and defensive lines. The next three years he was a starting offensive lineman for the varsity team. In his junior year, his Grand Ledge team went 9-0 in the regular season, giving them the highest total play-off points in the state. They were conference champions but lost to Rockford in the second round of the play-offs. They finished the season 10-1. In his senior year, Kory was voted a captain by his teammates. His team ended at 7-3 and lost to Grand Haven in the first round of the play-offs.

In addition to football, Kory was a member of the Grand Ledge varsity track team all four years. He threw shot put and discus and achieved Century Club status his junior year. Also during his junior year he competed at the Indoor State meet in shot put where he placed 12th. Kory also played freshman basketball at Grand Ledge.

He said, “First I would like to thank my mom and dad for all their love, support, and guidance, which has made me the man I am today. I also want to thank my parents, grandparents and the rest of my family for attending all my games and sporting events to cheer me on. I want to especially thank my dad for teaching me the understanding of and the love for the game of football, without that I would not be the player I am today. One final big thanks to all my friends for supporting me and always being there for me when I needed them.”

Kory will attend Northwood University in the fall where he will continue his careers in both football and track. He plans to study accounting.
