Kegan began playing football for the Chippewa Hills Rocket Football Program when he was eight years old and continued in this league until beginning the Beal City Jr High Rocket Program.  Kegan was a four-year varsity football player for Coach Lou Rau at Beal City High School and had the privilege of being coached by assistant coaches Brad Antcliff, Matt Cairo, Brad Gross, Charlie Gross, and Dennis Lorenz during his time at Beal City.  In addition to the coaching staff, Kegan is “thankful for the trainer Brian Locke for all of his help and encouragement.”  Kegan played a number of positions on both offense and defense, including quarterback, running back, full back, inside linebacker and safety.  He was named team captain, Detroit Free Press All State and Highland Conference MVP in 2009.  The most exciting achievement for Kegan and his team in 2009 was winning the Division 8 State Championship title.

Kegan played JV and Varsity baseball and was the starting right fielder and lead-off batter of the 2009 State Championship Beal City Baseball Team.  Kegan has also volunteered his time as an assistant Rocket football coach, baseball camp assistant, and student mentor.  Kegan volunteers to help youth in the community to develop skills and fundamentals to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.

Kegan said, “I am thankful for all of the family, friends, and community members that have supported and encouraged me during my high school career.  I am proud to be part of such a great community.” He thanked his teammates and coaches for, “all of the memories and for pushing me to be the best I can be in order to be able to play at the next level.”  Kegan will play football at Northwood University and plans to study entertainment, sport and promotion management.
