Justin Braska

During his career at Dewitt, Justin helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back state final appearances. His junior year he started both sides of the ball playing left guard and middle linebacker. His senior year he was named captain of a team with high expectations. He started on defense at middle linebacker and played tight end and full back on offense. He led the team in tackles as both a junior and a senior while amassing 262 tackles in his career. His team voted him MVP, Mr. Intensity, Iron Man, and awarded him the SMUK Award. He was number 20 on the Detroit Free Press Fab 50 list and number 51 on the Detroit News Blue Chip list.

 

Justin was very dedicated to football, missing only a few workouts in the off­-season. He wrestled his sophomore year but injured his shoulder and wasn’t able to finish the season. Justin was a member of the power-lifting teams his freshman and junior years. He played his entire senior season with a torn knee ligament.

 

Justin will play football for the Western Michigan Broncos in the fall. He thanked his family, especially Sheila and Craig Dennis, for all their encouragement and support. He also thanked his coaches for pushing him and Coach Rob Zimmerman for all his help with recruiting. He gave congratulations to his brother John and sister-in-law Came Braska who were married on May 7, 2005.
