John was a two-year letter winner for the Jackson Vikings Football team. Known for his athleticism and hard hitting, John provided the Viking defense with solid tackling, from sideline to sideline, as an outside linebacker.
John was named to the Jackson Citizen Patriot‘s Dream team as the Defensive Player of the Year, in both 2009 and 2010. John’s additional athletic honors includeed: All Capital Area Activities Conference in 2009 and 2010, for football and in 2010 for basketball, as well as Honorable Mention All State for football in 2010. Over his varsity career, John recorded 219 tackles, 38 tackles for a loss and 14 quarterback sacks.
In addition to football, John participated in basketball and track, while at Jackson High.
John thanked his family, teachers and the coaching staff at Jackson High School for “helping me to develop into the student athlete I am today.”
