Three of my family went on to play at the collegiate level.”

Joey spent most of his young life playing hockey and baseball. When he was in eighth grade he “thought I would give football a try”. His passion for football continued as he went into high school. He was a starter on the varsity team as a sophomore when he ran for 1100 yards and 11 touchdowns. He continued as a junior with 1300 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a senior he ran for 1700 yards and 27 touchdowns, making his career totals over 4000 rushing yards.

Joey also played hockey throughout his high school career. His team won a state championship when he was a freshman.

Joey thanked his parents, family, the Brighton football coaches and the Brighton community for all their support throughout his high school career. He gave a “special prayer of thanks for the inspiration he has always felt from his Dad above.” Joey will attend Northwood University where plans to work on a bachelor’s degree in the automotive industry.
