In Jarrett’s two varsity seasons at Mt. Pleasant the Oilers won 17 games and brought home a first ever district championship in his junior season. Jarrett played defensive back and quarterback his junior year before suffering a season ending injury in the Oilers third game. His senior season, Jarrett started at quarterback and led the Oilers to a 9-2 record. Jarrett completed 130 passes for 1783 yards and 18 touchdowns in his senior season. He was also the team’s second leading rusher with 419 yards and 6 touchdowns. Jarrett’s dedication and leadership led to him receiving the Oiler’s Captain and Leadership through Attitude awards.
Jarrett also caught, pitched and played infield in two years of varsity baseball at Mt. Pleasant. In his junior season, the baseball team made a state final appearance taking home the runners-up trophy.
Jarrett thanked his parents for “all their love and support through my high school sports.” He especially thanked his dad for his guidance in regards to the sport of football and for, “modeling the dedication, effort and toughness it takes to be successful.” Jarrett also recognized his teammates for the support and friendship that allowed him to be successful and have so many lifelong memories. “I am proud to have represented the Mt. Pleasant community and am thankful for their support.”
Jarrett will attend Ferris State University and play football.
