Jared is the son of Scott and Lona Barton and big brother to Evan (11).
Jared began his football career in the fourth grade with the youth football program at Fulton. He played four years of high school football. He was moved up to varsity for playoffs his freshman year. He was the starting running back the next three years on varsity. In his three years on varsity, Jared rushed for 4,855 yards, had 662 yards receiving and scored a total 55 touchdowns. Jared was also the punter on his team for three years where he averaged 43 yards per punt. Jared has received multiple awards through his career. His most valued award was being voted Offensive Player of the Year three years in a row by his teammates.
Jared also participated in track three years and basketball one year.
Jared thanked his family, teammates, and the Fulton community “for everyone’s support thru the years.” He gave a special thanks to all of his high school, middle school, and youth coaches. He said, “I would like everyone to know how much their always believing in me has meant.”
