Jake Boonstra is the son of Todd and Vicki Boonstra. He has one sister Sami (20).

Jake grew up in Walker, Michigan and started playing football in the first grade. He finished his senior season with 117 pancake blocks. As three-year starter, Jake was the “cornerstone” of Kenowa Hills’ offensive line at both center and offensive guard for three seasons. He also played on the defensive line. Jake was a two-time, First Team All Conference and an All Area pick who only allowed a single sack in his entire prep career. Regarded as one of the top prospects in the Lake Michigan area, he was named to the 2015 Grand Rapids Press Dream Team and was listed as one of the state’s top offensive linemen in the class of 2016.

Jake also played baseball until his sophomore year in high school. In baseball, Jake’s little league team won two state championships and appeared in the Senior League World Series in Bangor, Maine.

Jake thanked his coaches and family, “for helping me become the player I am today.” Special thanks were directed to Coach Sandee and Coach Van Essen.
