Gleo is a Detroit native. He is a 1991 Graduate of Murray-Wright HS, where he lettered in football and track and earned All-City and All-Metro Honors. In 1995, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education from Olivet College, where he played defensive line. He was a four-year player and a three year starter, years which included Olivet’s 1991 MIAA Championship. He received his Master of Arts degree in teaching in 2001 from Marygrove College.
    Coach Wade began his coaching career at his Alma Matter in 1995 under then head coach and mentor, Earl A. Moore. During his coaching tenure at Murray Wright, he helped guide the Pilots to two Division Championships in 02 and 03, a PSL Championship and State District Championship in 05 and three state playoff appearances. He also helped guide Detroit Douglass to its first ever city and state playoff appearances in 2007, and the city playoffs in 2008. He coached the defensive and offensive lines and was defensive coordinator at Murray–Wright until it closed in 2007. He currently serves in the same capacity at Detroit Douglass High School under Head Coach, Andre Harlan.
    Gleo teaches physical education, coaches middle school basketball and is head coach of the varsity boys’ track team at Clintondale. His track teams have received All-League (MAC Gold Conference 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), and All-County (2004, 2006) honors for each of the last five seasons. Gleo has coached state qualifiers and All-State athletes in track and field, as well as receiving Coach of the Year honors for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. He is a life long Detroit resident where he resides with his son Gleo Wade Jr. (8).
