Evan’s football journey started in seventh grade and he chose football in high school, despite having played soccer for nine years. As a junior, he was moved from receiver to free safety just days before his first varsity game and played in every game, sometimes on both offense and defense. As a starting receiver his senior year, Evan amassed a school-record 84 catches for 1,402 yards, both of which rank in the top five in the Michigan High School Football record books. His Saline team was 6-3 in the regular season after starting at 0-2. The Hornets upset rival Ann Arbor Pioneer in the first round of the playoffs.

In addition to football, Evan participated in the school Wind Ensemble as a percussionist, and also played varsity lacrosse and intramural basketball. He graduated with a 4.02 cumulative grade point average.

Evan thanked his family for, “their unwavering support” and especially thanked his teammates and coaches, “because without their hard work, dedication, and support, my exciting, unforgettable football experience wouldn’t have been possible.”
