Erik’s football career started at the age of nine when he played for the Championship Pontiac Packers at quarterback and linebacker. In that season he earned MVP honors. The next year he was on the same heavy weight team as his brother, Mike and the Packers were undefeated at 11-0. In his seventh grade year, Erik moved to Chesterfield. At L’Anse Creuse Erik played several positions including, safety, defensive linebacker, quarterback, and running back.
Erik also played basketball. At L’Anse Creuse North he played four years of varsity basketball. He also participated in numerous camps for children and the Special Olympics for three years.
Erik said, “I give thanks to God for without God, all this would not be possible.” He thanked his parents and grandmother “again and again for the continued support and guidance that they have provided.” He also thanked friends and community, for “continued support and kind words.”
