The Jim Crowley Award is dedicated to the memory of the late Jim Crowley, former coach at Jackson Lumen Christi High School, a great coach, and a dedicated family man. The award honors individuals who have made special contributions to the game of football and to the MHSFCA. It is the most prestigious award presented by our association.
 

Don Lessner was the Executive Difrector of the MHSFCA for 18 years. He was a member of the Academic All State, All Star, Assistant Coach of the Year, Crowley, Finance, Hall of Fame, Honorary Membership, Leadership, Membership, Placement, Playoff, Political Action, Public Relations, Rules and Scholarship Committees. Before becoming the Executive Director, Don served as Newsletter editor for seven years and Secretary-Treasurer of the MHSFCA before being named Executive Director in 1989. Coach Lessner was inducted into the MHSFCA Hall of Fame in 1985.

Don made coaching stops at Monroe Catholic Central, Riverview High School, Algonac High School, and Erie Mason High School. He was a math, social studies and physical education teacher, assistant principal, principal and athletic director.

Don succummed to cancer in 2007.
