Devon’s mother is Sheila Kelm. His stepfather is Aaron Kelm. He has two little brothers, Dominic Spalding (12) and Robbie Hartman (9). His “Granma and Gramps,” Pam and Kevin Pence also are part of his immediate family.

Devon’s football experience, “has been all uphill since I buckled on my helmet for the first time when I was eight.” He played for the Westland Comets for five years starting on the offensive line. In his third year he moved to running back and has been at that position since. In high school he was nominated for MVP all four years and was team captan for three of those years. “Football saved my life and will now pay for my education. It is the greatest sport of all time!”

Devon also played baseball and wrestled at John Glenn. He is a serious ping-pong player and acolyte of Jiu Jitsu.

Devon thanked, “God first, without him none of this would be possible. I thank my mom, my roll model and my hero.” He thanked , “my grandma and grandpa, my favorite people on this planet.” Devon thanked Coach Hardin for, “making this possible for me and Coach Hardin and the rest of the coaching staff for getting me here.” He thanked, “my step-dad for backing every one of my decisions and for always being there for me.” He thanked, “My entire football team, especially the offensive line.” Devon also thanked his best friends, Shurley, Deangelo, Brendan, Andre, Jaylen, Travis and Jordon “and especially ‘Big Tony,’ who turned me into the player I am by pushing me past my breaking point.”
