Coach Denny Hopkins graduated from Livonia Franklin High School in 1968 and received B.S. (72) and M.A. (75) degrees in physical education from Eastern Michigan University.

Denny will start his 43rd year of coaching football at Linden High School in the fall of 2016.  He has been the head coach the past 17 years. During that time, his team has reached the playoffs 16 times.  Hopkins has a career record of 124-53, with eight Metro League Championships.

Coach Hopkins has won Regional Coach of the Year seven times. He was a Detroit Lions Coach of the Week in 2012 and was inducted into the MHSFCA Hall Of Fame in 2011.

Denny and his wife, Cathy, have been married 42 years. They have two children, a daughter, Cori, and a son Kyle (married to Kelly). Hopkins has two grandchildren, Kinleigh and Cayden, Cori’s children.
