That’s when I came to coach Snell for guidance. He kept me in the weight room and stayed on me about my learning. My junior year I led Thurston to a Mega Blue Division Championship. My senior year we went 8-2. It was a great year. Teammates and coaches made it a memorable season, one I wouldn’t forget.” Darran was his team’s MVP in his senior season.

Darran also played basketball and ran track and was a facilitator for the Thurston Unity Team.

Darran thanked, “God for making it possible for my success and for my athletic ability.” He thanked his friends and family for all their support and, “All those who doubted me; you made me a better person.”
