Dana began playing football at age ten with the Eastside Falcons. After playing two years with the Falcons, he started playing for the Kennedy Middle School Clipers where he went 18-0 over the two seasons he played and won two league championships. After going 8-1 on the Lakeshore JV team in his freshman year, he was moved to varsity in his sophomore year. He played five games before transferring to Denby Tech. His junior year he started two games then transferred to Madison High School. His senior year he led the team to an 11-1 record and the Regional finals. He was named Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Dana was a three sport athlete. In addition to football he placed fifth in districts his freshman year throwing the discus. He also played basketball for Madison his senior year where the team went 16-5. He earned five varsity letters in high school.
Dana thanked, “God first of all for all of my blessings and for giving me this great opportunity.” He also thanked his parents, “For all they have done for me.” He thanked his older sister, Danyelle, “For always being there for me when I didn’t have anyone else.” He thanked Coach Drake, “For everything he has done from all the recruiting, to school, and all the little things.” Dana also thanked Coach Brock, “for his help in recruiting and for being a great coach and a great mentor.” He thanked, “My 2009 football team for giving me the best football year I’ve ever had with great memories to look back on.” Dana included a, “Special thanks to all my grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, Coaches, teammates, football parents and everyone else who has supported me to make me the person I am today.”
