Dan started his football career in the third grade playing flag football at the Fraser Rec Center. His father coached him and his brothers and he learned to love the game. Growing up he was also active in baseball, basketball, and hockey. He continued his football career in the    junior high where he played for St. Anne’s under Coach Nick. His team earned the CYO title with a record of 8-1. Dan played football all four years at De La Salle, following the examples of his older brothers. In his sophmore year he joined his varsity team in their State Finals journey. That year inspired Dan and his teammates in their senior year, when they were 13-1, which is the best record the school has attained. Their accomplishments included being named Central Division Champs, Catholic League Champs, District Champs, Regional Champs, and State Finalists. The 2008 season was the first time De La Salle was crowned Catholic League Champs in over 50 years.

Dan thanked his mom and dad, brothers, grandparents, aunt uncles, cousins, and all his friends and their families, “for always supporting me and the team. He gave a special thank you to Coach Szat, “who is one of the best coaches in the State of Michigan, along with the entire De LaSalle coaching staff. He said, “I would not be here today enjoying this opportunity if it were not for them and my teammates. “There was no better feeling in the world than battling under those Friday Night Lights in Warren. Playing in the toughest league in Michigan, and coming out victorious. I will always think of those times with the fondest of memories.”
