East Assistant Coach 2012 Mark Perry

Chelsea High School

Coach Perry is an Ann Arbor Pioneer graduate and former Arizona State University Sun Devil. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

As a player, he tried out with the Dallas Cowboys (NFL) in 1987, won an Arena League Championship with the Arizona Irish in 1990 (before becoming the Indoor Football League). He was drafted as a defensive back by the New Mexico Rattlesnakes of the PSFL (Professional Spring Football League) and figured to be the starting free safety. In 1991, Perry then signed with the Arizona Rattlers Arena Football Team. He was the second player signed in the team’s history, although subsequent injuries cut his playing career short.

Perry began his coaching career in Arizona at Scottsdale Christian in 1989 and Phoenix Christian High School in 1990 as Defensive Backs Coach. He moved back to Michigan to coach at Ypsilanti High School as Defensive Coordinator for 13 years. In 2011, during winter conditioning, Perry was an Assistant Linebacker Coach at Wayne State University.

Coach Perry is currently the Executive Vice-President of Americas Football League and Football Quest International. Mark and his wife, Ann, reside in Southfield with two sons Miles and Grant, along with two daughters, Payton and Morgan.
