2011 Chad Coleman

Chad is the son of Chad Coleman Sr. and Tanyanika Gibbs. He has one sister, Chelsea (11), and one brother, Chris (8).
Chad began playing tackle football in the seventh grade. He was a two-year starter for the Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers where he played safety as a junior and both safety and linebacker as a senior. In his senior year, Chad led the team in tackles with 64, had one interception, 12 pass break-ups, three sacks and two forced fumbles. He also helped the team win just its second Big 9 Championship in twenty years. In his junior year, Chad was named to the Academic All State Team with a 4.0 GPA. He was also selected as an All Conference defensive back in both his junior and senior seasons.
Chad was a member of the track team as a senior where he competed in the 400 M dash and the 4 x 400M relay.
Chad said, “I first want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing me to be the exact person that he called for me to be. I thank my mother for the constant, every day belief in me. I thank my dad, step-mother, church and other family and friends who continued to support me even when the team was having a rough year. Lastly, I thank my amazing coaches over the years: Coach Williams, Coach Isaiah Gates, Coach Mike Gates, Coach Branch, Coach Clingman and so many others.”
